Frequently Asked Questions

Important Notes

Most of the items listed on our site are store bought returns. All of the items we sell have been in someone else's hands before coming through 702 Auctions. We do our best to inspect each and every item before listing them. We note any issues or missing parts in the listing. However, we process hundreds of items every day. There are some things that unfortunately get overlooked. For this reason, we offer a no hassle return policy. If you receive an item that wasn't as described feel free to bring it back for a full refund. For more information on our return policy, Please follow this link.

The first image in most of our listing is a stock image. Because our software pulls the stock images and product information from online sources, there may be slight variations like the brand name, color, or package quantity. Before bidding, it's highly recommended that you look at the additional photos and notes of the actual item being sold.

How We Define Item Conditions

New - Unless otherwise noted "BRAND NEW" or "SEALED", every single item has been opened for inspection. "New" items appear to be unused. They may be missing packaging materials, plastic bags, or items unrelated to the proper use of the item. For example, a monitor may be missing a common HDMI cable but have the power supply and base. An item may be missing the manual that can be easily found online. This would still be considered "New".

Used - The product shows signs of being used. This can range from light to heavy use but can still be used as intended. These items may be missing accessories, instructions, packaging, parts, and/or other common items that are easily replaceable. Any missing parts that would be required for the intended use of the item would be noted.

Parts Only - These items are typically non functioning, broken, or missing parts that would be required for proper use. We still offer these items for sale simply because many of our customers repurpose items or separate them and resell them as parts.

Please Note: We do not test items for full functionality (i.e. We do not try cooking in your air fryer, we do not try brewing coffee in your coffee machine, or anything along these lines.). In some cases (monitors for example) we will power the item up and show the item working in the photos section.

Is there a factory warranty on the items?

We have heard from our savvy customers that many of the manufactures will cover defective items under warranty without proof of purchase. For example, Lego will replace missing parts free of charge by just visiting their site and requesting the missing pieces, no questions asked. Most high end coffee machines are covered for 2+ years from the manufacturer date without proof of purchase. We have heard stories from customers that have had replacement parts sent to them free of charge on several of the higher end espresso machines. Obviously, physical damage would rarely be covered and some manufactures do require a proof of purchase from an authorized reseller. Since we are not the original seller, a proof of purchase from 702 Auctions would not be sufficient in that case. However, more and more manufactures are now tracking items by serial number and manufacture date and do not require a receipt.

How Does Max Bidding Work?

When bidding on an item, you have 2 options.

Quick Bid will allow you to quickly place the next highest available bid on that item.

Max Bid works a little differently. This is commonly known as a proxy bid. Regardless of the amount you put in "Max Bid", the system will only bid to the next highest available bid. Then, if someone else were to attempt to outbid you, the site will automatically raise your bid up to your max bid amount.

Max Bidding Scenario

A listing is created with a Starting Price of $100.00.

AuctionBob enters a Bid of $299.00.

SusanSales enters a bid of $185.00.

AuctionBob's Max Bid is automatically entered as $190.00.

A third user, BidderBill, sees the listing's Current Price as $190.00 and enters a bid of $250.00.

AuctionBob's Max Bid of $255.00 is automatically entered and he remains the High Bidder.

The bid history below shows what this would look like

Date/Time Username Amount
9:05:34 PM AuctionBob $255.00
9:05:34 PM BidderBill $250.00
8:59:19 PM AuctionBob $190.00
